Unless you are living under a rock, it is likely that you have been or will be affected by the upcoming Presidential election. With the economy steadily declining, more and more Americans are looking to the next President to help pull our country out of this recession.
Job seekers, who have likely been hardest hit by the financial crisis, have decided that it is time for a change of office. A recent poll conducted by Beyond.com of more than 38,000 job seekers found that 53% plan to vote for Senator Barack Obama in the upcoming election. In fact, the race isn’t even close with only 33% voting for Senator John McCain, 8% undecided and 6% not voting at all.
Although everyone in America is feeling the pressure of the economic crises, it is no surprise that job seekers would be the most vocal about our country needing change. These professionals are currently looking for a job when no one is hiring and the national unemployment rate is on the rise. Luckily, these professionals are putting their faith in Barack Obama to help revitalize the economy and job market. A previous poll conducted by Beyond.com indicated that 86 percent of professionals believe that the economy and job market will improve as a result of the 2008 Presidential election.
Here is a quote from the press release that Beyond.com sent out today:
“Job seekers have a lot at stake with the upcoming election, and are taking a stance on which Presidential candidate would be the best leader for America,” says Rich Milgram, CEO of Beyond.com. “There is no question in anyone’s mind that change is what our country needs to pull through this economic recession, which is why the majority of job seekers are voting for Obama in the hopes that it will help improve the economy and get them back to work as soon as possible.”
What are your thoughts on the upcoming election? Who do you plan to vote for?
